Cost - $$...doable... if you're the one paying the tab, take someone you like.
The only Con was that I took the verbiage on the menu literally... The red snapper dish read whole...so I thought I would get a at least the whole half of the fish...wrong! I got a 2" wide strip cut from the whole half. Still, it was delicious, but not whole by any measure.
Perfect rating because the main thing I love about acropolis is their consistency in the food quality. I know that every time I order the appetizer platter or gyro platter or anything for that matter, it will be that same delicious flavor I was craving. Consistency is key!
I live pretty close to Tarpon Springs and this place has the best Greek food outside of there. My work showed up with ten people, no reservation, and aside from a "mild panicked look", they handled it amazingly. The server was quite apologetic that I got tomatoes in my gyro even though I said "no tomatoes"--I didn't tell her but she noted that I had picked them out and apologized. I told them not to worry, these things happen and I wasn't allergic.
Bathrooms were nice, the cheese on fire dish was "eh" but the pita to scoop it up was next level. Greek fries are French fries with feta on them which is pretty good. At noon on a Tuesday, it was pretty tame. Music is not overpowering but that parking lot is too small (which isn't something they can really control).
I was visiting Tampa and looking for something fresh that was open late (Newsflash it isn't much). I stumbled upon Acropolis, and it was delicious.
The waitress was attentive and accommodating. Since it was my first time here, she gave me just enough time to look at the menu without forgetting about me. The bread delivered to the table as an appetizer was fresh and moist. When my salad arrived, it was crisp with ample dressing.
Overall my experience was amazing and I would come back should I be visiting Tampa again. Plus I love the name and the murals are fun to look at!
Aside from the overtly sweet house champagne, everything was very good. The bread and dip were delicious and we ate all of it. My husband had a pasta dish that was very good. I had a fish sandwich that I took off a very nice bun and ate alone. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service from Jillian was warm, friendly and efficient.
