Fish and Chips Lemonade

Huge portions.

Great fish and chips. We came on a night that had live entertainment. Great atmosphere and other places to choose from. The fish and chips were a large portion of good white flaky fish. We liked the fish and chips better than the cod balls. The fries were hot and fresh. They have a great home made tartar sauce. (Gotta have good tartar sauce)

Before you read my review, please note that we ordered through Doordash. Doordash deliveries has got to have impacted the quality of food for restaurants and I think restaurants need to think about their delivery service. First, Doordash dropped off our order at our front door, didn't even ring the doorbell. We didn't notice our Nest until about 13 min after the food was delivered. When we opened the boxes, the fish was still warm but the fries were almost room temperature. The portion was definitely worth the price! At first bite, the batter was soft and no crunch at all. This is our first time trying this place so I'm not even sure how it's supposed to be normally but usually I like my fish to be crunchy. I got the sidewinder fries and they were inconsistently cooked; some were still a bit firm. My husband got the long fries and those were much better in texture. I'm not a big fan of their "tartar sauce"....I love normal tartar sauce because of the relish. There was no relish in this sauce. I love it that restaurants make their own spin on things but I think it's also important to have "normal" condiments for those who do not like the house sauce.
I'm willing to try them again AT the location to see if it's better because if this is what it is, Clermont Fish House has nothing to worry about. Again, restaurants need to look at using Doordash as a delivery service...their service or lack of service still impacts the customers' experience.

Watch out Clermont Fish House, there's a new best fish and chips restaurant in town. The fish here is amazing. Cod thats battered in thin, crispy batter so it's not overwhelmingly heavy or hard to eat, and doesn't take forever to cool off. The fish is flavorful too, doesn't need loads of tartar sauce. They also give you a choice of fries between wedges, shoestring, and sidewinder.
My girlfriend and I both got wedges and they were delicious. She herself got the fried shrimp and they were great too. Big jumbo shrimp makes for 5 long fried shrimp fingers. We also got the titicular lemonade. I got blackberry and it was absolutely delicious. 100% addicting.

This place is worth the price. Delicious fresh food, and my undecided belly when I walked into montrose market was extremely happy to see a Fish restaurant suddenly pop up! They were just setting up when we came in and they were open. Amazing food and service, I'll definitely be coming back soon. Another home run at Montrose.
