Barnwood Country Kitchen and Smokehouse

We live about a minute away but today was the first time we tried it. We had the Pork Melt with Fries and Brisket Sandwich with BBQ Beans. The food seemed to take forever to come out with there only being 2 of us and the restaurant more than half empty , was at least 20 minutes after ordering for sandwiches to come out. It was all hot and fresh , We split the sandwiches so we ate half and half. The Brisket Sandwich was good and had a good seasoning the Bun is so so rather use a hamburger bun at home. The Pork Melt was alright - the pork had some clumps of fat and no flavor but was moist and tender , could not find the mushrooms barely on the sandwich but the grilled onion were grilled perfectly , soft but a slight crunch, The garlic toast it comes on was a good bread choice. The BBQ beans were average - fries I thought were burnt and soggy in grease but they tasted okay other then no seasoning so I put salt and drizzled barbecue sauce on them and they were alright. Unsweet Tea - Average . 2 sandwiches 2 Teas - 25 something before tip which is on the pricey side. No one was overly friendly and not all that attentive. We won't be going back even with it being 1 minute from the house.

Had lunch special with 2 sides for 12.99. Great service very clean. The ribs were a little dry. My two sides were collard greens and red beans with rice. Collards had good flavor but a little salty. Beans and rice had great flavor. Garlic Texas bread was tasty. Not sure if I will go back.

Nice Decor. We had the Thursday daily special which was chicken fried steak and pepper gravy. Good waitress, friendly owners. There is also a gift shop with honey products, original paintings, and really nice homemade crafts. I hope to come back soon and try some of the offerings from the breakfast menu.

In my opinion, one of the best BBQ places in Lake County. They have a huge menu for lunch as well as breakfast! The service and staff are always accommodating and nice as can be. The food here is amazing as well and always comes out nice and hot. Their BBQ sauce is all homemade and very tasty. Cool little gift on the side of the building too! Definitely would recommend the pulled pork sandwich with any one of their amazing sides! Great place!

Barnwood BBQ is an amazing place to visit for breakfast or lunch. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The food is always exactly what you hoed for and even better. The prices are right. They even have some great healthy choices with their salads. I have been here dozens of times and bring large groups with me and the service and food never disappoints!
