Buca di Beppo - Ft. Myers

Family size portions are not very family sized , but prices are, my son and I ordered chicken parm and there were only 3 pieces of chicken no sides unless you order extra. Our wives ordered a pizza seem to me to be very small for family size, it was square and only 12 inches wide. Our waitress tried very hard to please us even though she never refilled or glasses. As one other reviewer explained the olive oil put on a plate for bread taste like old motor oil with no spices in it, our first trip there was not bad at all, had a meatball and it was very good. Will probably never go back unless we get free gift cards

I've been there twice, and both times the food was great. Today, I got the baked Ziti on take out. When I got there, my food was ready. It was delicious, with plenty of Parmesan cheese. They even gave me some bread to go with it. It was some kind of French bread that smelled and tasted great. The employees are friendly, and all the girls who work there are cute. Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but it's probably due mainly to ignorance. Someone mentioned that the olive oil tasted funny. That's because real Italian restaurants use extra virgin olive oil, not the flavorless refined olive oil you buy at the store. It's like the difference between unrefined coconut oil and the refined coconut oil that has no smell or flavor.

Someone else mentioned that the bread was stale. The time I ate in, the bread was hard/dry, but I think it's supposed to be, since you're going to be dipping it in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. If the bread is soft and full of water, it wont absorb the oil and vinegar very well.
