DaRuMa Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Lounge

I love this place! Great place to have a romantic date night. Ambiance is lovely and the lighting is great. I also love the fact that they have someone playing live music while you eat.

Great customer service experience. However, there was a moldy smell at the bar, the food was average and the tip is literally added to your bill when you have a party of 5 or more. Each business may run according to its liking, but I don't agree with the business adding the tip for the customer. That's a disservice. To be fair, they do have a nice place and they're in a great location. Rating would go up if they figure ot where the moldy smell is coming from and fix it as well as give the patron the option to tip accordingly.

From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. The greater , waitstaff , and buss people are all very pleasant. I sat at the booth and not the sushi bar. The waitress did not over service me but made sure I was completely satisfied with my visit. The sushi was very delicious to say the least and the presentation made you hungry just looking at it. All at a reasonable price. All in all a good experience.

A bunch of us girls went to celebrate a birthday!! The food was good ????, our Waiter was funny & our Chef did a great job! Because there were over 5 of us, the gratuity was already added to our checks. The receipt clearly stated that it had been... which was fine. The surprise of an "up charge" of $2.50 for fried rice, was just that...a surprise! I don't recall ever being charged extra for fried rice. They did bring out a cupcake with a candle for our Birthday Girl. Don't know if they charged our host for that or not. Parking is definitely a hassle, due to the Bell Tower movie theater sharing the parking lot. Not sure that I will go back.
