Fine Haitian food! The bannan pezi (fried plantain patties) were excellent. Based on the pictures on the website I was disappointed overall. The website shows food on regular plates. They charge an extra few dollars per meal if you want real plates instead of your food in styrofoam containers with single-use nonrecyclable plastic utensils. Never have I before been to a restaurant that charged extra for using regular plates. In all fairness, it is a good thing that this is an option; I just don\'t think it makes sense to charge extra for it. Also, the prices were not posted. There were no regular menus, only a clipboard with a white sheet of paper listing what was available that day; the prices were not listed there. The prices are reasonable except for the additional charge for real plates. The prices were listed on the website; they do have a nice website even if it is a bit deceptive (showing food on regular plates without explanation regarding additional charges.) If they would end the extra charge for real plates and seemed more environmentally conscious (less styrofoam, more reusing and recycling) then I would gladly eat there again.
My favorite creole restaurant! Its always fresh hot delicious. Keep the dry plaintains though.
The ox tails were delicious and tender. The fried goat, yummy!!!!
Good customer service, Good food on some days. Some days their fried plantains taste fresh, like it was made just before I got there. Other days they don’t, taste like it sat on a heating plate for a good 30 mins. Everyone knows plantains taste better when they’re just coming out of some hot grease. Nonetheless the food is amazing. I always get a big to go plate of Grio complè which includes rice.
Great pickley, grio, rice and bean, not the best customer service. Great food
I really enjoyed my first time there. Ronald was awesome and getting our orders and still taking care of all the customers who were there prior. The setting was clean and nice. It was a taste of home. Food was okay. My black rice and stewed turkey was really good and I loved the proportion(we got a lot for our money). My husband got white rice and stewed goat and though he thought it was good, I found the beans ("sauce pwa") to be okay.
I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick homestyle bite or wanting to try Haitian food for the first time. It is definitely worth it.
Oh! And I really liked the art work.
