Sweet Melissa's Cafe

Only had desserts but they were delectable. The key lime bread pudding and beignets. The bartender was very polite and welcoming.

Invited by friends to go to Sweet Melissa’s. Checked out the menu first as I am a vegan and saw there were no suitable options on the menu. I called to ask if they could accommodate my diet and they assured me they could. Melissa prepared a delicious vegan meal....one of the best I have ever had in a restaurant. I wish she would add it to the menu. I truly appreciated the extra effort made to satisfy a customer.

Amaaaaaaaazing food. Terrance an awesome waiter and food is outstanding and surprisingly original....and we love the lighter serving size option to allow us to sample the menu. We were so impressed that during our four night stay on Sanibel we dined there the last two nights. This chef is better than all that we’ve experienced in Houston. Atmosphere is perfect. Light music and a relaxing vibe.

Food was as good as promised. I had the Scallops and the flavors were fabulous. Unfortunately the service was stale at best. Environment upon entering was somber and unwelcoming. We felt as if we were imposing. Just a simple smile and a friendly hello from someone would have made a great difference in our dining experience. We went somewhere else for dessert.

Excellent menu selection. Flavors of the appetizers and entrees were exceptional. Service was great. The atmosphere was too noisy to have a decent conversation. Very distracting from the overall dining experience.
