Me and my husband ate at Leon’s today for the first time. Lake Ella is such a magical/beautiful place, but it lacked of restaurants like Leon’s. It’s wonderful to be able to seat outside, enjoying a beautiful sunny day, plus the lake in front of you.
Food: we ordered wings, fried tomatoes sandwich (ciabatta) and bao buns. All delicious. Prices were okay too.
Quick note: We were a bit lost when we arrived, since we saw everyone eating outside but had no idea if we could sit or how the restaurant worked. I think a sign should hang outside indicating that orders are placed inside. You’re actually free to seat wherever after you’ve place your order.
I would recommend that after an order is placed, a number or sign to be given to each customer to put on top of the table, that way the waiters don’t have to shout your name (wondering where you’re seating) when the food is ready.
Also, i feel like the business hours are a bit limited, but almost every restaurant in Tallahassee is like that, :(.
That being said, I loved the food, I loved that the restaurant is at Lake Ella. I wish this would expand and more restaurants open around the lake . I would recommend this place.
This place is GREAT, delicious food, and so much potential. Sincerely! We went on Sunday around 1pm, and they were extremely busy. I had no trouble getting my order, but my friend was told continuously that it was the next order and it just never came out…. Until it did…. After almost 30 minutes of waiting after I had already eaten my meal.
The food itself: absolutely fantastic. Delicious. Everything about it.
The service: both of the waiters were extremely sweet, there just seemed to be an issue regarding communication with wait times. However, there was a dessert that was brought out on the house to compensate for the miscommunication, so I cannot hold anything against them. Truly.
Overall the place has a fantastic view, the food is AMAZING, and the waitstaff are lovely. I think that working on being better about a Sunday brunch (which should always be expected at a fantastic place like this) and handling it better would be ideal. Definitely coming back!!
I went here for the first time, and I ordered the blueberry habanero wings, and the sweet platains were blueberry too!!!! and I also ordered the she-crab soup. With the cutest little piece of bread in it. Everyone was kind and friendly. They had a bunch of ladies in there with red hats on, and they were funny too. I will be coming back because I like the food it's different, it's unique, and it's very tasty, and you won't break the bank it's affordable. Which is important now these days for people who can't afford all this food out here. I have had
plenty of wings in Tallahassee, but I finally found my spot. kudos to You Leon God bless you and what you have going on. And I pray that God bless you and prosper you in ways that you could never imagine.
Great food, personable, inventive chef in a very relaxed setting by Lake Ella. The shrimp and grits bowl was amazing. Another of our party had the soup flight (3 different soups, each was delicious). HIGHLY recommend!
Holy Moly! I'm happy this place is finally open! Chef Leon is bringing new and exciting flavors to town. We've tried just about everything on the menu so far and the Rosemary Focaccia Sandwich is, hands down, my favorite. Cannot wait to see where he goes from here!
