Cheen Huaye Southern Mexican Restaurant

An absolutely delicious meal.
The highlight being the refried black beans which were super flavorful and rich. I was very surprised to learn they were vegetarian.
The frozen margarita was so so. It could have used a bit more lime flavor.

It was a great experience on my first visit. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the staff, especially Jorge was very friendly. The happy hour specials were affordable and great tasting. Jorge the bartender was attentive, knowledgeable about his liquors and made the experience a pleasure. Everyone should check them out, sometimes places off the beaten path are a delight.

Had a great experience coming to Cheen Huaye. We were around the area and wanted to have some authentic Mexican food.

As a huge fan of Mexican food I always stick to my usual places as I personally feel that it is difficult to find a good, clean place that feels and tastes authentic. I am not from around the area where this restaurant was and was nervous about trying a New Mexican place specifically. And I can honestly say I am making plans to go back.

From the get go the service, the ambiance, the cleanliness.. I was very happy.

The food was outstanding. I had their lunch burrito and their chips and salsa. It was absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic.

Will absolutely be going back.

Pretty decent Mexican food. If anything Id like to see more variety and more creativity ..but food was good as were the cocktails. Only issues was that i asked for a mix of both flour and corn tortilla and was told "No!" and server walked away . I thought that was odd and honestly felt ' we can add a flour tortilla " for x amount...but not a big deal.

This place has very delicious food! I really enjoyed my steak! We also got a guacamole appetizer that was incredible! The prices are high and the portions are smaller than what I'm used to from other Mexican restaurants. The place is small but the staff was very attentive to my family of about 20 people. They were able to accommodate our large party which was great. If we are ever in the area again I will definitely get the steak plate and two of the guacamole appetizer so I don't have to share!
