The Lifeguard - Café & Restaurant by Edwar Simal

Cool spot on Washington Av towards Lincoln Mall. I bumped into it quite fortuitously whilst just casually looking for a spot to grab a drink and get away from the hot weather for a bit. Really nice welcome and nice chill out place. Good for reflecting, chilling, ‘interneting’, people watching or all of the above 🙂
I only grabbed a coffee on this occasion, but also bought a small beach hut photo ($45) from the back. Reasonably priced for a tourist.

We got off our NCL Escape cruise this morning and was walking around. Needed a place to eat and that had a good atmosphere. Stopped in and was immediately greeted and offered a sample of their Cuban coffee. Waffles, Cuban Coffee, and Lemonade were amazing! Will definitely be back when in the area! The staff was amazing as well. So friendly and helpful!

Brand new place.Out of this world... The food is amazing, and the art collection is gorgeous. Good price for the excellent quality. The Lifeguard Tower Series is beautiful, all of them in one place, and they can customize your request.

Great place. The sandwiches were delicious. Keep in mind there is a service charge if you stay in, which I was fine with. The owner came out when we were passing by while looking for the former Cat Cafe which is now this Lifeguard Art Cafe. We told him we will stop by later and we did today. Sad to see the cat place go, but this place did not disappoint. Beautiful and clean, and the photography is amazing. I will be back. Thank you Edwar and team.

I loved it here! When I stepped inside for the first time, the staff quickly offered to help me with the menu and gave great recommendations. The quality and taste of the food is so, so good. This is my second time getting food from them and the Caprese Toast is my top favorite! Also, their fresh juices were so refreshing and tasty. It’s also super cool that while you’re eating, there is art literally all around. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check out this place! I’ll definitely be coming back :)
