The Licking Miami Gardens

I had the Fried Fish (Tilapia) with MacnCheese and it was perfection. The fish was fried just right and the mac had good flavor. I'm sure they have their reasons but I did not like that fact that they only give you the option to have two checks, no matter the number of people in your party. I also did not like the fact that they do not offer a complimentary glass of water if you are dining in and being served; You have to pay for bottled water. Might not be a deal breaker for anyone else but it was a no no for me. They Mystery Drink is very sweet so be prepared.

I wouldn't say this place is bad but it is definitely overhyped. First, majority of their food items are fried. Fried shrimp, chicken, conch, etc. I saw they had steak on their menu but I wouldn't trust it. I had a chicken wing platter with greens and mac and cheese. The chicken wings taste as though they just fry them and dip them in sauce so no special flavor there. The mac and cheese was okay but it was a little stiff. The greens had some type of hot sauce flavor which I never tasted before which I'm sure if I try it again I could deal without it. I also had a soda drink with it which I found out there are no free refills even if you dine in which is ridiculous. Lastly they put parsley on everything even though they can do without, but I'm sure it was for food decor. Overall, it was okay but I don't see it being my first choice.

My husband and I were out and about this past weekend and wanted something other than fast food to eat so we decided to stop there. I must say we were not disappointed. My husband had a seafood dish and I had fried Turkey wings with mac and cheese, it was delicious! We went back tonight to get seafood rice for the family, again, delicious! We have found a new eating place.

Was visiting on a vacation in Miami and heard a lot about it so me and some friends checked it out. Well worth the visit! Food was on point and the server was very personable and attentive also, wish I remembered her name. The Mac and cheese candy yams and fingalickin wings was some of the best food I have ever had. Will be a spot for me to go every time I hit Miami ????????????????????????????????

This restaurant should be a cultural landmark. There's a sense of pride that fills this place and it was great to experience with my family. We ordered a whole spread and enjoyed the environment ever minute that we were there. Definitely a place we will stop every time we're near Miami. Food and service was great too! Very accommodating as well. We loved it all...
