Ok so my friend was visiting from DC and wanted to go here and I told her it be packed and I live here and would never stand in a long line, but since she insisted I took one for the team. We went and there were 2 lines the first line was to place your order and pay then you go to the next line to wait for your order. I like the system and to two young ladies that take the order and payment were very nice and patient because we asked a lot of questions because it was our first time there. It took a little over 30 minutes to complete the process and we were out.
We both ordered the fried ribs, I had the pigeon peas and rice, mac and cheese, and string beans. Her sides were pigeon peas and rice, mac and cheese, collard greens, a side of yams, and banana pudding.
We both thought the ribs were good, but tough, the string beans were good and the mac and cheese had a good flavor, but dry. The yam juice was watery, but the yams were sweet. They should call the banana pudding, instant pudding with whip cream and Graham cracker crumbs with the name banana deleted because there were none.
We can say we tried, but I will never stand in a line like that for mediocre food. Not!
The line was very long. I waiting thinking it was gonna be something great. My mac and cheese tasted like seafood not mac and cheese, shrimp rice was okay. Banana pudding is basically whip cream with a little pudding. The blue lemonade and fried shrimp is good.
I'm from Chicago and I wanted to visit trick Daddy restaurant because I've heard so many good things about it. When I tell you the food was absolutely delicious listen the fresh shrimp was so tasteful the ribs was absolutely amazing the fried Cornish hen and the lamb chops was so freaking good!!! It was about 15 of us that went to the restaurant and we all agreed that the food was definitely worth the wait and the money!!! Trick Daddy also came out to take pictures with us which was a bit Plus for me! He was so down to earth super cool and funny. I will definitely recommend this place and I will be back again when I visit Miami! Sunday's eatery was definitely the highlight of my visit to Miami.
Seasoned to perfection, a must visit!
