We weren't fond of fish dip. I loved the conch fritters crispy outside, Soft inside, more like a tostone than hush puppy but my partner didn't at all. (I'll go back without him)
This place has a great atmosphere w all that vintage decoration. Service was courteous and attentive. Some how I expected much more for a place that has fish makert on premise.
We order crab cakes, good but not anything that made me go back for them. Then we had snow crab and the fish filet w come w three side, they where good but nothing to brag about. What really irritated us is the 3 courses came at the same time.
The place is very nice for happy hour and hanging out w friend but not one for a fine dining experience. I will return but knowing what expect.
You want to impress someone? First, find this place. Second, walk by the front door and head for the back of the building. The outdoor seating area is almost as good as the food. The grouper sandwich is so delicious, don't waste your stomach space on the bread. The filet melts in your mouth. Use the extra tummy area to have the crab cakes. You're welcome.
Sat outside in mid August under the chickee hut and it was very pleasant. The outdoor patio under the hut is well landscaped with running water and lush landscaping. As for the restaurant the menu is new and expanded as well as the beer menu. I had the fried fish Reuben Sandwich which was excellent. Always a great dinner at the Golden Rule Seafood Market.
My meal was very good, especially the grilled scallops. The price was higher than expected, and the dining area definitely carried the whiff of an established seafood market. Next time I expect we will eat outside on the patio but not until the weather cools down. Don't get me wrong, I will be back...the seafood there is always excellent.
