Islamorada Shrimp Shack

Shrimp fritters were excellent and great beer, wine, and cocktail selection. Shrimp chowder & she crab soup were alright (would have preferred the she crab be thicker) and better when paired with grilled cheese. Greek salad was better than average, and there were other good salad options. Would have liked to try the shrimp combo platter thing. Fish plate wasn't too exciting, nor were waffle cut fries. Large menu, with a variety of desserts. Sweet tea was good southern style and rapidly refilled, excellent service.

Food was outstanding!! We had the conch salad; coconut fish basket margaritas were delicious and took a piece of key lime pie!!

Nice cozy place for a quick bite to eat. Great food and great prices. We sat at the big table with comfy couch seats!

Calling any of this food Cajun is insulting to those who originated it. The famous shrimp and grits had no flavor or seasoning, not amazing at all like they so claim. The gator bites appetizer was good and gave us high hopes, but each of our 4 entrees need lots of salt and pepper and/or hot sauce to even make it palatable. Our server did not inform us of the catch of the day, like we heard the other servers mentioning either.

We had a terrific time visiting the area. We always enjoy eating somewhere local. The Shrimp Shack had a variety of tasty items to choose from. Not only were the entrees delicious, but the key lime pie was excellent!! It is made fresh and from scratch on site. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous!
