We visited back in mid-May. I eat a meat based diet and was disappointed they did not sell meat by the pound. My husband and I typically order a variety of meats which was more challenging here when we had to order actual meals. There were some items we wanted that they didn't have. What we did order and receive was excellent. I recommend this place. I would return.
I didn’t like the food at all as it was not fresh. The chicken seemed to be cooked a couple of days before and then warmed up. The corn was same. The brisket was a medium.
The lady who served us was super nice and friendly and the reason I am giving a 3 star review, otherwise I would leave a 1 star review. Their place is cosy and cool as it is an old boat converted into a restaurant. All in all not the perfect place for a BBQ dining in my opinion.
I have been wanting to try this place out. Got the brisket, mac & cheese, and cornbread. Everything was delicious! Did not disappoint! The views are beautiful, and I had Coke in a bottle! Something I haven’t had in years! I loved it!
KC Native here! It's a little weird place but it's definitely a good place to stop. It's the first time I've ever had bbq in a refurbished house boat. The bbq sauce itself isn't great but mixed with the smoked meats it's actually quite good. I personally recommend the George and/or the Texas sauce. Drinks are just from the bottle, which is fine just a little pricy. Overall it's expensive! The sandwiches were about $17-$20, and everything else was over that price. Service was great, people were nice and the meats were well smoked. I recommend stopping to try the brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken on sandwiches.
Took my lady on an impromptu date night to smoked. It is a former boat house convert to a quaint restaurant, with a great top deck for dining outside.
I ordered the half rack of ribs, added some pulled pork. Chose cucumber salad and queso Mac and cheese as my side.
My lady ordered the slides brisket plate with fries and coleslaw.
All the meats come dry (meaning no sauce, the meat itself is still tender and juicy) but they bring the sauces to the table! Even without sauce everything was smoked perfectly with a great flavor. Adding sauce only enhances an already tasty smoked meat.
I tried all the sauces before our meals came out. I decided to mix the spicy Kansas City sauce with the blackberry jalapeno sauce!
Food was great and service was top notch! Brandon was working this evening, and very attentive! Highly recommend!
