The Surf's Up Cafe

So good, we ate here twice in 3 days. Out of 8 meals, EVERY SINGLE DISH was fantastic! The buttermilk fried chicken was the kid’s favorite. My wife gets adventurous and eats fish every once in a while and the blackened mahi tacos made her want to eat more fish. The fish and chips is the best I’ve ever eaten, and it came with two MASSIVE cod filets. We’re from a coastal town in South Carolina that should be able to get close, but they don’t. We also had the shaved ribeye cheesesteak and shrimp baskets. Both of those were amazing, too. They did the coleslaw as good as I have ever found in a southern/seafood restaurant. Waffle fries sound simple enough, but they were way better than the waffle fries you get at that popular fast-food chicken joint. Portion sizes were “heavy-hitter approved.” I’m a big guy. I was NOT disappointed. Can’t believe this place only has 4.5 stars with so few reviews. If you’re on Amelia Island, EAT HERE!!

Definitely the place to go if your hungry and don't feel like leaving the beach.

We weren't sure because of the reviews, but we needed a place for lunch after a long bike ride, and this was nearby. No one at the host stand, but after a couple minutes, one of the servers just told us to sit anywhere. There's plenty of open air seating, both covered and uncovered. Eva was our server, and she was very friendly and our food came FAST. All of us enjoyed our meals--my fish and chips was hot and fresh out of the fryer.

Burger was delicious, crab soup was pretty good, service was decent. I'd go back.
