Wow! Called our store about dropping in...with 30 people, Sunday after church. They said, "Come on Over". We came in and got AMAZING service. Our food was ready and on the table in less than 5 minutes. Food was great. People were greater.
husband got the carnival poboy and i got the shrimp poboy. both were PACKED and dressed wonderfully. they were so delicious. the staff was super friendly and professional. will definitely be going back!
This is our local food joint to eat at when we don't feel like driving all the way to New Orleans. We have eaten in and taken out. Portions are really nice and have a wide variety to choose from. They offer online ordering through the app Toast Takeout which Pounders also uses. Really love how they offer 10% off for military and first responders. Much appreciated. Don't forget to sign up for the rewards program.
I love the atmosphere of this place. Although not a huge restaurant, it had a nice family owned feel to it. Menu was simple but had a wide variety to choose from. My wife had the catfish platter which she said she enjoyed. I had their basic burger with red beans and rice. While I was not particularly impressed with the burger, the red beans and rice was GREAT! Not quite as good as getting it in New Orleans, but still good. Both of us agreed that the cornbread was excellent. We will both be back in the future.
The food was very good and the staff was friendly. I had sliced brisket and my only complaint was I wish there was more because it was delicious! I preferred the mojo sauce but the others are good too, it’s just a matter of taste. The baked beans were good and had a little kick to them. The Mac and Cheese wasn’t the best but still not bad. The cornbread muffins were amazing, not dried out hockey pucks like some places serve. The smoked chicken was also great. Very tender and lean still. My daughter got the grilled shrimp tacos and said they were also good. I will say it is a little pricey if you are thinking of it as fast food, but the quality is good.
