The Mr. And I have been passing this place for months and I'm SO thankful we finally stopped in today. First off the place is decorated beautifully, it's clean, pristine, and very warm and welcoming. You are greeted instantly by some lovely, beautiful, and kind women. They ask you if you're dining in or if it's to-go and they explain the process to glory. We decided to dine in after seeing the beautifully prepared food in front of us, and we both opted for the pot roast and man was that a great choice. We both got
mashed potatoes and I got collard greens and I have to say it's the best meal I've eaten in Destin in all 3 years of us living here. They explained several events coming this week all targeted towards helping people. You can FEEL the love in that place and in every bite. I honestly don't know why you're still sitting there reading this when your bellies could be so happily fed at this piece of souls heaven. I cannot wait to try other meals. We're currently racing home to devour this sweet potato pie. Praise God for good food in Destin finally!!!! Great job Soul Bistro you won some loyal folks here.
This place is awesome and a must visit if you like local, down home food cooked with love. Valerie and her team were super friendly even though we showed up 30 minutes before closing time. Valerie explained the entire menu including the sides. The chicken and smothered pork chop were great not to mention the sides - collard greens, black eyed peas, sweet potatoes, and regular mashed. If you want local, home cooked food this is your place. We loved it and will certainly return.
This was some of the best food I’ve had in a while. Having grown up in a farm in Mississippi where we grew all of our own food, this was like going home again. We’ve been to Soul Bistro a couple times now and each time the food is fresh, tastes delicious and we leave very full. We’ve had the ribs (amazingly tender and flavorful), fried chicken, collards, corn, mashed potatoes, and yams. The yams are incredible. The peach cobbler and Key lime pie are freshly made and so delicious. We are local and will definitely be eating here regularly.
I typically don’t write reviews but this one was well deserved. Before I start my review I would like to just say to the person that wrote that the food isn’t fresh probably never been to a traditional soul food restaurant. Let my baked make and cheese sit and soak up all the flavor. We i first walked in I was greeted with warm welcomes and kind service. I ordered catfish nuggets, crab cakes and chicken dinners. Seafood was fried fresh. Everything was excellent. Will defiantly be back for more!
