Tusker House Restaurant

This was my third and last time visiting Tusker House. For the price ($52/person) this isn’t worth it unless you have the dining plan. Server was very friendly and we were seated ahead of our reservation. The buffet was just okay for us, definitely not worth the price. Best items were the Mac n cheese, coconut shrimp, and banana bread pudding. Both of my kids told me they would have preferred rainforest cafe. Each character comes to your table for a photo and autograph before moving to the next table. The restaurant was only about half full so they ended up circling around twice. The draw to this place is the character one on one time, but with character lines being so short in AK there’s really no reason.

We showed up early for our reservation and they took us right in. We have a few different allergies in our family. They are always informative with the allergen guide and offering for the chef to come out to the table. Everyone is so friendly. The characters always put on a show. It’s great to be able to interact with Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. The food is served buffet style with many options and choices. It is all delicious! If you’ve never eaten here, it is a must!!!

After getting our magicbands set up we started planning our theme parks and then our meals. We made certain reservations based our park visits of course. While in Animal Kingdom, we were lucky enough to snag up an early lunch reservation at Tusker. For lunch, they do an African inspired buffet with characters walking around for you to take pictures with.

As far as the food, the coconut shrimp was delicious! There were many other items on the buffet that was solid too, but the shrimp really stood out, I had it 3x!

The service was really good, we were really dehydrated from the heat so we ended up getting 3 refills! Our service was amazing.

My only drawback was the price, it was $52 for a lunch buffet. Drinks are included, but a bit on the high side for lunch.

This was my favorite character dinner we have done so far, and trust me, I’ve about done them all. Some unique foods, but also all the staples, so everyone in the group was happy. Characters were so interactive and it wasn’t overly crowded. Wonderful experience!

Amazing breakfast buffet!! The juice was amazing and the kids loved it. This was one of my kids favorite breakfast buffets we did based on food and characters. They enjoyed the safari outfits. There is a conga line done with maracas throughout the restaurant, which kids enjoy. The food was more than just the typical breakfast buffet and contained more variety than other Disney restaurants. Tusker House is also close to the safari if you're trying to rope drop it or have an early fast pass for it.
