Mellow Mushroom

Had a few drinks (but didn't eat) here. Very good tap list of local Florida craft beers as well as others from around the country. The pizzas and salads looked really good, and the bartender and staff were attentive.

Nice little spot, was told about this place before and glad I tried it out. The ambience has this cool rock lounge with instruments everywhere. The pretzel appetizers were hot and good. My pizza came and I was happy, tasted so good. I will definitely come back.

I had a slightly below average experience at this Mellow Mushroom. We went during a slow time, mid afternoon, but we experienced almost a forty minute wait for food which seems long. The cleanliness of the restaurant was fine and the staff was friendly enough.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain pizza joint with creative pizza combos with fun names. They even have a “tie dyed” pizza! They also have all your standard pizzas and toppings and a garlic cheese bread that rocks. The pizza is a bit different than most with a chewier crust and a good dusting of cheese. I personally love the salads if only for one reason - their amazing Esperanza salad dressing. It’s basically a tangy creamy dressing with a unique flavor that is out of this world. I use it to dip my pizza crusts into after I finish my salad. Perfection. They also have a full bar and some local craft beers.

The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side for being in the heart of the tourist area, so expect a wait if you come during peak times. They also have lots of awkwardly large or oddly shaped booths which hampers their seating if they don’t have large parties waiting. Service is super hit or miss, they suffer from the international drive service turnover where you never see the same person twice and it seems to always be everyone’s first day as a server. Oh well! As long as they keep turning out good food, I can overlook that.

We love this place. Every time we hit an escape room, Mellow Mushroom always follows! (And on all my birthdays!) Their pizza is top notch, and great ingredients. Make sure to try the "pretzel bites" appetizer! They're more of a baked pizza dough than pretzels, and the beer cheese is awesome!
