I’m a regular customer at Rise Pies of Lake Nona. I loved how this place serves food from Youngstown, Ohio where I have lots of family living in. I especially love their Hot Peppers in Oil which taste just like my late grandma’s homemade Hot Peppers in Oil.
On a recent trip to Rise Pies in Lake Nona, I tried to order a Brier Hill pizza. A menu item that’s not advertised on the marque at this location but an item the staff here will make. The woman told me that they no longer have Romano Cheese behind the counter citing poor sales of Brier Hill Pizza. It’s worth noting that this location now sells a thick crust pizza, something that would’ve made their Brier Hill Pizza better.
I love the pizzas that Rise Pies serves. But what got me hooked as a customer was their menu items that originated from Youngstown, Ohio; a place I consider a home away from home due to my family’s roots in the Youngstown area. I wish this location did a better job of advertising all of their Ohio born menu items, especially the Brier Hill Pizza. I hope this location never stops selling their Hot Peppers in Oil cause those taste just like my late grandma’s Hot Peppers in Oil that she would make. Plus, you can’t get packaged Hot Peppers in Oil in any grocery store outside of Ohio.
The establishment is under new management, apparently for the fifth time. This time seems to finally be the right fit. Cherise cares about the business she is running and it shows. Greyson is also a great addition to her team with a great and kind attitude. If you want a pizza or salad composed of obviously fresh ingredients, served with a smile, you won't be let down. Also the prices seem to be a lot lower than I remember them to be when they opened. Give it another try y'all.
Seems over priced for what you get.
I tried the South Side and the Hawaiian shirt day. Both were tasty, but I like white cheese better on pizza so the Hawaiian won my vote.
The Monday $2 cheese pizza is an AMAZING DEAL (got that with garlic sauce, yum). I think they have note worthy deals on other days as well. Check it out.
Good pizza for a quick bite. Lots of sauce options. Toppings are good. Place is clean. Service is good. Definitely will return!
