Barley & Hops Windermere Tavern

My rating is split in half. I’ll start with the positive: Our meals did not disappoint, had the ribs and the fried chicken with sides, both were delicious and great portion sizes all around. Great value!

The worst was our server. They really need some extensive training. Greeted, (did not ask if we wanted drinks) We ordered food and then said we would also like cocktails. My meal was ordered with a side salad which usually comes out before the meal. Ya think? Our hot meals delivered by a runner, never got my salad, had to ash him for it, delivered with wrong dressing. It was a good size and as I was already eating my meal, so... Server comes, I ask for a to-go box for it and the correct dressing. Never even apologized, in fact, did not say a word. Comes by and drops the container on the table and walks away. A few minutes later, she stops at the table and puts the check down. Says nothing. ??? What happened to “how was everything, can I get you anything else, another drink or some desert”? To me that’s just normal restaurant etiquette. Needless to say her tip was not generous, I am in a tipping industry and if your good, you’ll know I appreciated your service.

On a side note, I do not think short shorts that a “hostess” was wearing is appropriate to seat your guests.

My family was vacationing in Orlando at Disney staying at a house in Windermere and just stopped at the first place we saw. We then went back another two times that week! The food was always great, my party of seven never had one complaint about their food. The service was also attentive and very friendly. The water is borderline undrinkable and some of the drinks were poorly made but I’m still giving a five star review because they deserve it!

Really enjoyed our experience. The food was great and the service was speedy. We enjoyed the casual vibe. Beer prices were great. Not often do you find $2.50 drafts anymore.

The staff we saw was very nice. However, we asked for our check twice and after 15 minutes we had to ask again while sitting right at the bar. It was not very busy either. The food wasn’t very good. I was super disappointed in the beer list. We thought this was going to be a fun/hip craft beer place considering the name...
