Matthew's Steakhouse

We were at Matthews Steakhouse on the 19th the other evening. As always it was a lovely evening. Food was very lovely and very good. Desserts are also just so Heavenly. Steaks perfect as always.
Such a pleasure to see Matthew and his staff.

Best part is also going back this evening. So looking forward to being there. Wine/beer very good listing.
Fine dining at its best.

Perfectly cooked steak ! Great and cozy atmosphere. Had the great pleasure to meet meet owner and father. Courses were perfectly timed. Definitely coming back.

Beautifully decorated and surprisingly quiet even though the restaurant was busy. The food was delicious. A nice place to go for a special celebration or enjoy a good meal.

An improvement from the former Ocoee location but can still be much better. Not bad, but not great either.

The good...
The new location (adjacent to Plant St. Marketplace) is great. Parking can be challenging at times but there is plenty a short walk away.
The place is elegantly decorated yet not over the top.
Nice bar area though small and only serving beer and wine.
Service was good.

Missing the mark...
The house salad lacks originality and looks like a bag was opened, corn added to it along with some dressing. With so many salads and different greens to choose from, it's sad that a garden salad fails in its attempt to be great.
The steaks...
I saw it being cooked. I noticed the wood being used, I saw where the temperature was right. What I am marveled at is that it was lacking flavor as well as hard in its texture. The menu states it was Angus choice. I've tasted Angus choice plenty of times and I can tell you, this is not it. It was tough. Not tender.
Sides...only one. Baked potato with sour cream and butter.

I can appreciate the beautiful decorations and the white linen on tables. The place looks beautiful as it elevates the food and overall experience. However, the menu is limited, the food is average at best, and the lack of choices and originality leaves much to be desired in the overall experience.

The good news...the biggest room in the world is that of improvement. The effort is noticeable and admired. Enhance your menu with choices that will complement your dishes. Make those dishes unique in flavor and presentation and you have a venue worthy of coming back to again and again.
