The Hen and The Hog Scratch Kitchen Boca

We've been to both places, Pompano and Boca. The Pompano location is nicer. The artistic chairs outside are beautiful but not fun to sit on. Friendly staff and food was good.

This establishment is amazing!!! The service when you walk up is stunning, they greet you with an amazing smile. The decor is out this world. To top it off is the tractor table with the hay around which makes the dining experience much more enjoyable!!! The loaded fries is a great appetizer while waiting for the main entree. I recommend you try the shrimp and grits!!!! The grits are cooked with love and perfection topped off with sautéed blackened shrimp!!! Christina our server was excellent, she knows how to make you laugh and smile!!!

This building where Hen and the hog is built has had quite the track record. I'm hoping this place can hold it down here for a hit because it was enjoyable, comfortable of course delicious, and fast.

Came in around 10am on a Sunday morning, patio had a good crowd, weather was sunny FL in January. Sat promptly at a table, no fancy drinks ordered almost went with oatmeal to be healthy; threw an audible and had to stop the waitress and got the Irish Benedict. My girl kept it healthy with the Acai bowl which was good.

The menu states the acai bowl is limited and we must have gotten the last one as it's texture was a bit watery. Either it melted as it is limited or just to much liquid that morning in prepping. It was finished and satisfied the palates. The Irish benedict was a satisfying portion, not over the top and just enough. Their biscuits are unique and seemed to have a different style by adding a cornbread type style to them. Everything is made from scratch, will oder drinks the next time I'm having drinks.

Staff was great, had a visit from most the staff as they were working together. Looking forward to another visit, great craftsmanship all around in the restaurant from the taste of the food to, decor of the shop, hope they make it there.

Had a very good lunch today with my wife, daughter and her fiancé today. I had the pulled pork sandwich which I enjoyed. The pulled pork was nicely prepared and included a nice mix of pork pieces including some crispy ends and moist pieces. The large bun was picture perfect.

My daughter’s fiancé Sebastian had the Big A** Burger - which was an outrageously big cheese burger made from two half-pound burgers with lots of cheese topped with fried onions and a fried tomato. Sebastian managed to eat the whole thing. Our server Monica mentioned that he would get a free t- shirt if he ate the burger and fries in 5 minutes - but she suggested he might take his time and enjoy it as it was a very good cheeseburger. Sebastian took her advice - but still downed the whole thing in about 15 minutes.

Found a new honey hole in east Boca, the Hen and the Hog has always been one of our breakfast havens on the weekends at the Pompano location. We had the chance to check out the new location on Federal Highway in Boca for lunch and “How y’all doing Boca hot spot”. I don’t want to post this because I don’t want to lose a great spot for in and out lunch from an amazing friendly staff serving up some great sandwiches. We have been splitting our sandwiches so we can both taste two and compare flavor. We rolled with the Pulled pork sandwich that had great smoke on the meat “sweet and smoky” with coleslaw and a warm bun. The pork was on point with smoke but the coleslaw needed more crunch. The Boca best chicken sandwich was on point, crispy bacon with perfectly fried chicken breast that had crunchy breading served with a nice sauce on a fresh bun. The staff was next level and the food amazing, we will add the joint to our lunch place rotation. Would also like to give a big thanks to our server Monica for the sample of the corn crab bisque “it’s off the hook”!
