Surprised to find Nepali food in South Florida, but really can't find better momo anywhere else! I could eat a truckload of the pan-fried pork momo. Whatever spices they use is on point. Would definitely come back.
Mo:mo Avenue is a Nepalese restaurant located in Lake Worth Florida. Specializing in traditional Nepalese dumplings and noodles. The menu is small but mighty and serves foods that usually accommodate drinks (Drinking Foods!)
I spoke with Kuber the owner, I loved how proud he was not only for his restaurant but his culture as well. His vision was to share his love for food especially growing up in Nepal
They offer 3 types of dumpling options – Chicken, veggies and pork. Its is made from ground meat with finely chopped cabbage, onion cilantro, green onion, garlic, ginger paste and Himalayan spices. Served with special tomato and sesame sauce.
Momo’s can be served in 4 ways; steamed, pan fried, Jhol and C-momo.
I ordered 3 items Chicken Momo steamed, pan fried and the samosas!
The tomato or achar and sesame sauce was a bit bland. I noticed recipes that call for roasted tomatoes, I know that can bring an earthy flavor to the dish. Nonetheless, salt can always bring all the flavors together, especially in a sauce.
The Pan-fried Momo and Samosas were bussin, give them a try!
I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I saw the owner of this restaurant advertise on Nextdoor. The steam dumplings peaked my interest seeing as this is not a normal fast food option around town. I went in today on my lunch break and was very pleased. They dumplings were well-seasoned and fresh. I'm not too much of a sauce person or have a spicy pallet but the sweet chili sauce was tolerable. Also the noodles are not bad. Well seasoned and a nice twist on the well known Chinese food favorite.
This place takes pride in making their food and wants you to try it hot. Even though I had it semi warm it was good. I will definitely come back for more momo! 😋
I had the veg dumplings and veg noodles and it was delicious! Definitely different flavors than any Far East food around here. You can taste some of the Indian influence in their food and it was spicy but you can probably can ask for mild. The lady at the front was courteous and overall the experience was great!
Highly recommended giving it a chance!
If you want to try authentic Nepalese cuisine..This is the place to go. Me and my husband drove 40 mins to reach this place and guess what, we were not disappointed at all. We ordered momo’s (dumplings) and chowmein (noodles) and they were both delicious and I would give it a 5 star.
The owner of the restaurant is very nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
Do visit this place if you are nearby.
