SWIFTY'S has just popped up and we (6) enjoyed dinner last night. The room is intimate, attractive and reasonably quiet except for a large group of men who just made too much noise. Food & service were excellent. Hard to reach them as you have to call the Colony Hotel and they are understaffed.
This hotel doesn't overlook any details when it comes to maintaining their retro, classic theme! It's completely one of a kind and features great food in the restaurants on site, which can be ordered through an iPad placed in every room. It really wasn't my style, especially for the price, I feel it was missing things such as a gym/sauna and a dedicated parking lot rather than having valet only. They certainly have a set clientele and have very nice employees. The location is perfect for shopping being right on Worth Ave and the beach is merely steps away! The other downside is everything has to be done for you pretty much, down to getting something from your car and even ice for your room (they don't have ice machines)
If you want five star service, convenience to Worth Avenue and a true taste of Palm Beach in a refined but low keyed atmosphere, visit The Colony.
Expect a flavor of local and international flair with an elegant but understated disguise that has kept this family owned privileged playground swinging for centuries.
The real Palm Beach, this beautiful island, offers many charming options for dining, nightlife and accommodations all not to be missed. So, try not to miss this not so hidden gem for a delightful stay, exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, live entertainment in the old world charm Palm Beach is famously known.
I smile as I plan my next stay????
The hotel itself is very well kept and the staff were very nice. My biggest issue is with the lack of amenities, tiny room sizes, and lack of comfortable design. There isn’t a hot tub, and the room never had a bathtub. There is an air circulation system to keep the hotel from getting moldy, which means there is always air blowing in the room. There is an industrial sized air intake (to keep air circulating) on the shower wall at chest level beside the shower head, which creates an annoying draft in the shower, so you can never really warm up. 3 of us were traveling, so we had to get 2 rooms and spent almost $1,400 a night (combined) to stay at a hotel that leaves you wanting more. Tiny rooms, too few amenities, and not designed for comfort. There aren’t many options in Palm Beach, so this is clearly a cash cow for them and they’re milking it for all it’s worth because of the great location. If you’re staying in the villas, maybe it’s worth it. If you’re staying in a small hotel room, it’s not even close to worth it.
