Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

My son and I went for a late supper tonight. We ordered the fried chicken special. The four piece chicken were cooked completely. No evident of the bird having pink near the joints! I really enjoyed the side dishes too. Cheese and macaroni, potato casserole, biscuits with apple butter or honey to shmere on them . Used to be able to eat the whole meal in one sitting. Cannot do it anymore. Then only periodically I'll have fried chicken. Except for how much salt was used in the recipe, my son and I agreed that meal hit the spot!

Food was as good as it has been at other locations in various states but the waitress assigned to our table magically appeared after another waitress took our orders, served our drinks, delivered our food and when we were in need of drink refills.
Just prior to our food arriving at our table, another couple were seated behind us. I thought this was bizarre since they were seated in the same section of the "missing" waitress.
They were obviously "regulars" which made the mystery waitress emerge after a few more minutes.
By then, our food was brought to us by another. I had moved to the other side of the table from the "regulars" since the lady was drenched in putrid perfume. It wasn't far enough and my appetite was completely ruined from the gagging effect from her stench.
With just under a $30 order, I left our waitress $1 but sought out the younger lady who had so happily waited on us even though we were not in her section to give her the remaining $4 - the minimum I had planned to tip. Terrible experience but Rebekka, the "other" waitress, was our only highlight. Without her, we would have left due to no service. Unknown what the situation was, but the hostess who was training another at that time, should NOT have seated anyone in that area while the mystery waitress was dealing with whatever caused her to be "missing".

Quick,pleasant service. Our server Kelly D. Was very pleasant. Answering the questions and making suggestions. Food was very good and well priced. Definitely coming back!

Always excellent food!! Something for everyone. Make time to browse the store, dont just walk through!! They have hard to find things and great, original gifts for any occasion.
Always a treat is the comfy row of rocking chairs always available for rocking pleasure and also for sale to take home.
