Great location and good food. The Sunday champagne brunch is usually the busiest time to eat there. Lots of choices are available on the buffet. We usually get seated upon arrival without reservations. I highly recommend Shepard's for Sunday breakfast. The Buffett is half the size the rest of the week, with less selection of food.
Was worried about going after reading negative reviews. Our family found the place lovely. Atmosphere was phenomenal being right on the water. We went for dinner, sat near a window, watched a pirate boat, and even saw a dolphin. All staff were super friendly and helpful. It is pricey but we felt well worth the experience. Parking is valet which was odd for us but not a big deal. Supposedly the first hour or so is complimentary but even after that only $3 an hour. The food was good. If you are looking for the overcrowded, tons and tons of different seafood and the typical all you can eat seafood buffets, this probably isn’t for you. However, there was a well rounded selection of seafood, beef, and chicken. Tons of desserts. I would say more on the fancy side for most people but not so much so that I felt uncomfortable in my capris and tank top. I did read somewhere men need to have sleeves (not necessarily collar) but I didn’t get the feeling they would be rude about that. Overall, we loved the experience!! $180 for four with buffet and one pound of crab. Experience: Priceless!
We love Shepard's! Each time we visit Clearwater, it is a great dining spot with entertainment and live bands on the weekends. The price of the buffet has increased over the past few years, but it is worth the money for the experience and quality of food you receive! It is absolutely delicious and there is a very grand spread. From seafood to meats, to sides galore, soups, a dessert and icecream bar, and my personal favorite, the Cesar salad, there is an incredible selection. It is always so exciting to eat here. The atmosphere is clean and quaint, the service is friendly, and the view from the dining room and outdoor seating is spectacular. It overlooks the beach and everyone already knows the Clearwater sunset is breathtaking.
I've been coming here for YEARS. The food quality has gone up so much. 10/10 would recommend. It was excellent. Went on 2/3 for my birthday and the server was so sweet.
