Joellas's Hot Chicken

We love Joella's! We had one in Louisville and always made it a point to go there whenever we go back to visit. We were so excited to hear we were getting one nearby! We finally made the hour drive tonight from Wesley Chapel and we were not disappointed. Service was great. Staff was friendly and polite which goes a long way nowadays. The food was amazing as always. If I had to think of anything negative it was that they forgot to put sauce on my chicken but totally not a big deal whatsoever. We will be back!

I ordered the 3wings with a side of collards. The wings are huge and cooked to a golden brown. They were brought to me piping hot. I can't remember what sauce I got or the BBQ sauce. I liked the chicken with the sauce but wasn't too found of the BBQ sauce. The chicken was a bit greasy but it was hard to tell if it was grease or a combination of grease and sauce. I had a side of collards that was tasty. The side was a decent size but could have been a little larger. The chicken was topped with a very good pickle.
The restaurant itself had a nice decor. It wasn't very busy at all. The tables were pretty clean overall. The server was very nice and friendly. I will try it again.

I grew up in Atlanta, home of that relatively famous chicken place and so I’ve eaten my fair share of chicken sandwiches. That said, this one was one of the better chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Started out mid range on the spice chart and didn’t find the heat to be anything noticeable so if you like it hot, you might wanna start near the top. All sandwiches come with one side and I had the creamy mac and cheese which was tasty. Place was worth trying again and I’ll definitely do so in the near future.
