El Cap Restaurant

I take a trip here for dinner every now and then and the place is pretty good in addition to the chef being, of course, a great cook, he is also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life. He is friendly, energetic, and very uplifting. Going there and just talking to him would make your whole trip worth it.

Easily the best burger in St. Pete! I have eaten here for 30 plus years... it has changed hands a couple times. Stopped in tonight. I got the daily double with a basket of fries. 12 bucks. The burger could stop a car it is so big! Cooked perfectly. Thank you El Cap! Whatever you are doing , keep it up ! Stay local! We will see you again soon.

Read reviews, checked it out. Locals all at bar and knew each other and knew bartender. I explained I was from out of town and the bartender, cook and patrons all made suggestions, chatted and made me feel very welcomed! The burger they all recommended was outstanding and made the way I asked. Great prices. Will return when back in area.

Cozy location with a retro feel. Prices are very reasonable, with their standard burger priced at five dollars and change. Decent service with friendly staff. Visited in the afternoon, presumably before the dinner rush, so the place was next to empty and service was fast. Got a daily double burger which was a great size. Taste was a bit bland, but cooked and served exactly as ordered.
