Community Cafe

I don’t give out 5 star ratings very often, but I also haven’t come across a place quite like this. There are two primary facets to Community Cafe: Food and Activism. I’ll explain both briefly:

Food: The food is great. They have a selection of delicious meals, so if you’re looking for something meat free or gluten free, your totally covered. The staff are very personable and the service is great.

Activism: The owners and staff here are regular participants in the local community. There are quite a few love events that celebrate local business efforts in St. Pete, and they are always out in full force. They are also very much at the forefront of celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ community in St. Pete, so if that’s not something you agree with, then you might want to go to Chili’s instead. They also regularly host movie screenings and other assorted events centered around progressive activism, and even social events.

So yes, this is a cafe, but it’s also SO MUCH MORE than that. Because of that, I feel that it deserved a bit of a different review. If you’re in St. Pete, and you’re looking for a place to dine with great food and a welcoming philosophy and atmosphere, I couldn’t recommend a better place. You’ll get a plate full of great food and you’ll be supporting a great group of people in a great community.

I have eaten here several times and tried many items from their menu. The food and drink is always creative and excellent! Prices are fair and the owners and staff are always friendly and have served me very promptly. I have also attended many of the Community Cafe events and enjoyed them very much. Great people, great food, community minded and one of my favorite places to hang out. 5 stars !

I have enjoyed the Community Cafe on numerous occasions. It's warm welcoming atmosphere has brought it to my go to place, for meeting with friends. The food is nourishing, and reasonable, a feeling of being at home. Once a month they have the best swap in town, and are a big part of the St. Pete time bank. I recommend this Cafe often......

Great cafe, so many options to choose from and it’s all so good! They have games to play, there’s live entertainment sometimes it’s a great place to stop by and have a coffee, a meal or amazing desserts! Bonus that they have drag queen story hr once a month. The entire place is all about love and happiness

I enjoy this cafe and the atmosphere so incredibly much! The food is amazing and I love that there’s so many vegan and vegetarian options. There is such a homey feeling when you come in. I recommend this cafe to anybody looking for great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Also, they have a drag queen story hour every month which I think is beautiful and SO important. Check them out!!
