Finally got to try this place and so happy we did. They had their new robotayaki on the menu and it was fantastic- we tried the chicken and lamb skewers. The chicken had a nice sesame sauce (chef didn’t use peanuts to make it more friendly for people w allergies) and it had a cucumber relish that was so refreshing. The lamb was perfectly cooked and came with the most amazing dipping sauce. It was their version of tzatziki but so flavorful.
And we got some fried Brussel sprouts that were delicious- and even better dipped in the sauce that came with the lamb servers.
Chef came and our chatted - such a nice guy. Service was great. Can’t wait to go back.
The Abandon Izakaya is a great place to go get drinks and Japanese bar food. Don’t go looking for sushi or food cooked on a griddle in front of you and 24 other people. They have Robatayaki which is like Japanese grilled BBQ. We got the Robatayaki sampler and a vegetable Ramen which was great! The boiled dumplings had a good, spicy, chili oil kick. Our server,Meghan, was very personable and took good care of us.
My wife got the cherry “Skye’s the limit” sake cocktail. It was very tasty and you could get in a lot of trouble drinking too many.
They are in a terrible location hidden behind a burger joint and too many unkempt palm trees. But it looks like the plaza is being renovated. They are certainly a nice, destination restaurant where you need to seek them out. We look forward to going back and trying some of their other offerings.
Prices were very reasonable!! We were the only customers in the restaurant on a weekday, so I hope they generally get more business than that.
The Beef Dan Dan noodles were deliciously flavored & just the right amount of spice. The Abandoned Fried Rice was on point, definitely worth a try. The Ramen was lackluster & did leave me disappointed. We will be back to try other items on the menu.
I had been wanting to try this restaurant since they opened in October 2021. A group of friends decided to give it a try yesterday. Everyone loved it. Great atmosphere friendly staff and amazing food. Everything from shareable apps to delicious Ramen dishes.
You got to try the dumplings outstanding!
We tried many of their small plates and shared them. Everything is freshly prepared by the chef.
We enjoyed sharing, talking and had such a wonderful experience.
I highly recommend you try this place, you'll want to come back often.
What a wonderful experience! We shared multiple small dishes. I would highly recommend the boiled dumplings and shrimp tacos. High quality flavors and interesting food combinations. We had the chefs special that was beyond memorable. A beautiful and creative dish. It’s hard to pick a favorite. Will be back soon!
