King of the Coop

This is a cool little local spot where the guys cooking work hard and make a great fried chicken! It’s TAKE OUT ONLY. We got a pound of the jumbo tenders and a pound of the smaller tenders…there was enough for the six of us. We also had the fries and hush puppies. We thought the hush puppies were the best we’d ever had! We got the chicken naked and the spice rub, I would probably prefer sauced which I’ll try next time. They were out of Mac n cheese and banana pudding by the end of the day on Sunday, so go early!

I googled "chicken tenders" on my maps app for dinner and saw this place with pretty great reviews. Never heard of it. I'm easily over stimulated by noise (sensory processing) and when I walked in the music was blasting, making it harder for someone like me to concentrate on reading the menu. But, don't let that deter you. The food was worth the extra brain effort. I ordered the Nashville hot sandwich with fries. It was by far some of the best fries (seasoning and just enough crunch) and chicken sandwich I've ever had. The way the chicken was cooked and seasoned was unbelievable. The midway sauce was an awesome kick of heat and there's all heat levels to choose from including "no heat". My sandwich was topped with pickles and slaw. The mix of all of it together was heavenly. I cannot wait to go back and try out more of the menu. I'll def be ordering ahead for pickup. There's no area to dine in at the St. Pete location, but don't let that deter you. Order your food and go enjoy it somewhere! Worth it!! Oh, and I can't forget the ranch. I got a side of ranch for my fries because that's the only way to eat fries ;) and I don't know where they get their ranch or what brand it is but it was just like the rest of the meal....unbelievable.

The chicken tenders were hot and juicy their coops fury sure is an explosion of heat and flavor in your mouth. The staff and Management are friendly and the service was great. The hush puppies are bigger than you think and at a great price too! The Mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. Definitely would recommend going here if you're in the mood for chicken 🍗

Got a two piece chicken basket (biddy) was juicy and delicious
Biddy seasoning is almost little to no heat at all. If your looking for that this is perfect for you.

Tenders were the perfect size they definitely don’t skimp on your portions and it’s only $12!

Chicken tenders were moist and the flavor of the chicken was so flavorful. Well seasoned breading added to the taste .collard greens were excellent. A big surprise. Can hold there own with any true soul dining. Waffles were not light, but heavy and dense but tasty and held up to the syrup. Almost like a waffle biscuit hybrid. Coleslaw had a great crunch and was not drowned in dressing.
