Place has changed hands multiple times over the years. 6 years ago was the last time I walked through the doors. The vibe was so bad I quickly turned around never again to return. Friends have been telling me the latest owners, now Kalimera, have done Tarpon solid. Stopped in with my aunt this past week. Instantly noticed the place was bright, clean and very welcoming. Of course, it's about the food, right? When food came, we were so pleased with our dishes I slapped my aunt. 😜 JK. Refreshing when a place cares about what and how food is that comes out the kitchen. Expect me back again very soon.
Stopped in for breakfast this morning. Decided to try today's special. A "Country Omelet"... My Server was friendly, polite, and professional! The Omelet was Outstanding!! And HUGE!! It was stuffed with sausage, sweet onions, diced green peppers, Hash browns, and Monterey Jack cheese!! Smothered in Country Gravy!! A grilled biscuit was on the side!! Coffee was hot, delicious, and FREE!!! Extensive menu! Open for breakfast and lunch... Will be back again Very Soon!!!
Wow, stopped for breakfast this am after a morning stroll on the beach with my beloved of 41yrs.
What a fantastic surprise!
The food was very high end, delicious as well as visually appealing.
The service was friendly and made us feel a part of a bigger family.
We will surely return for more homemade Greek delights.
We stumbled upon the BEST restaurant in Tarpon Springs. The entire staff and chef are A1!!!! FRESH is BEST and this establishment embodies this standard. We happened to stop in for breakfast today after a walk along the water and what a wonderful surprise!!! They do not take any short cuts! The freshness of every ingredient makes this restaurant stand above the rest. Forget breakfast or lunch in the tourist area, GO WHERE THE LOCALS EAT!!!!! We will be returning whenever we are in the area. Jayne
Hubby and I stopped in for lunch today. Very happy we did! We both ordered soup, which was OK but a little too much orzo in the beef orzo for me and hubby would have preferred a little more lemon flavor in his avgolemono. That was the ONLY negative thing in our experience. Hubby ordered a Greek wrap with gyro. It was a very large portion with lots of meat and he said it was delicious. I ordered a Philly sandwich. It, also, had lots of meat, onions, mushrooms and Swiss cheese (which I much prefer to melted Velveeta). My sandwich came with french fries, which were PERFECTLY crispy outside and tender inside and not at all greasy. I also ordered a side of coleslaw, which was the way I like it... a little sweet and a little tangy. We ended up taking half of our sandwiches home. Our waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. Thank you, Kalimera Cafe! We will definitely be back!
