We went on a Thursday night around 7:30. The parking lot was full. As we got out of the car we heard live music coming from the outside seating area. We maybe waited 5 minutes for a table for 6. Our waitress was Teresa. She was very good, friendly and patient. We had two small children with us. We ordered gator nuggets for an appetizer. They were a little chewy but very delicious. Our meals came out exactly as ordered and cooked perfectly. The restaurant bathroom was clean and well stocked. For the amount of seafood that came on our platters, the price was very reasonable. The hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had! We didn't have dessert so no comment on any of those. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back whenever we visit family in Florida even tho it was a 45 minute drive for us (well worth it).
Corky Bell's is always great! Sits right on the water's edge on a beautiful stretch of the St. Johns river. Outside bar with a wonderful view and live music some days.
Had a lunch special with 1/2 fried oysters and 1/2 fried scallops, baked tater and creamy coleslaw. Served hot and very tasty.
And the staff from front to back were absolutely great! Give 'em a try, they have something for everybody and a good kids menu, too. ????????????????????
This was our first visit but it will not be our last. This is is truly a fantastic mostly seafood restaurant. The food choices are varied and many. The setting is casual, seating is inside and outside. There is live music outside on the deck. The restaurant is located on the St Johns River. We tried the Miorcan clam chowder which was thick, rich, and full of clams with potatoes and other veggies. We had totally different type of entrees, my husband tried the seafood choice platter broiled while I went with a swamp dinner of fried frog legs. Both were amazing! They each came with hush puppies and two sides. One of the best meals we've had locally in a while. Great meal for an even better price.
Food was great and we had 6 different dishes. I had not been here in more than a year as it is always packed. Well I guess that is because the food and atmosphere is Great. The wait was about 30 minuets as promised and the wait staff all worked together to make sure you we well attended to. While Clam strips can be one of the most simple dishes, these were truly the star of the table as an appetizer!
Went with two guests. This place is an institution. Big restaurant with a huge multi-tiered deck, right on the water. Mobbed on Sunday night, but seated in about half an hour. (Everybody waiting was friendly and talkative.) Very good seafood at reasonable prices. Young, energetic waitress who was attentive and helpful. Overall, a very pleasant experience, worth the wait. And worth going out of your way.
