Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House

Food and drinks were delicious, and there were many fresh fish to choose from. Lots of screened in outdoor seating and a nice size bar for drinks. 3-star rating based on restaurant management. The seating is best for parties of 4 or less. We were a party of 5 and due to other tables not leaving, we were sat 45 minutes late...and then per the waiter there was no time to order most desserts because the kitchen was closed. Worst part the restaurant was not scheduled to close for another 20 min.

Ok, so hear me out... I know it's a new place and they're working out the kinks. We will definitely return in a few months.
Service:
was truly 10 out of 10! Our server was Justin and he was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations.
Drinks:
The bartender today had a heavy hand and all drinks at the table were extra strong but good. My Dirty Martini came with olives hand filled with blue cheese. They were delicious.

We started our meal with Seafood Gumbo and an order of Hushpuppies with Honey Butter.
The seafood Gumbo had a delicious flavor but was absolutely incomplete and incorrect. 1) there was no rice in any of the portions at our table.
2) there was no seafood in any of the portions at our table. It was basically a great broth with sausage pieces.
The issue may have been whomever was plating it didn't stir the pot before serving. Anyone who cooks stews, soups, etc knows you need to stir the heavy items from the bottom of the vessel before ladeling it into a bowl etc. This should be taught to anyone working on a kitchen or preparing plates in a restaurant.
3) we were offered table bread, which we agreed to receive, but never arrived at the table.

Otherwise, our meal was truly delicious and enjoyable. We had Shrimp tacos, Ahi Tuna on Salad, fried shrimp. Great portions, nicely plated, everything was hot and delicious.
We will definitely visit again and look forward to the improvements.

Went here last weekend for our wedding anniversary late lunch. We asked to be seated outside and since it was 3:00 there were plenty of tables by the water but we were sat by the wall instead. Without having a nice view i wish we had chosen to just sit in the air conditioning inside. I ordered the chili rub triple tail. It was overcooked, dry and bland. Avocado salsa, rice and asparagus were also bland. My husband ordered the captains platter and was nice enough to trade my fish for his grouper, which was delicious. Shrimp were also good. I wanted dessert but waitress never asked and other tables desserts didn't look very impressive anyway so we left and went for ice cream.

Everything was great - food , service, location. Highly recommend. They have a gluten free menu, plus a lighter and smaller portion size menu, and Happy hour 11-6! We went on a weekday at 3 and there were lots of people there. Just opened July 4th weekend but I foresee a long and successful road ahead for this business. Also very accessible- see photos. No stairs needed, good parking.

We had the best waitress and the food was excellent. Best of all we could park our boat!
