This was sooooo good! We had a mix of vegan and non vegan options and everyone loved what they had and couldn't wait to try something different when they returned. Such a great atmosphere with sustainable packaging. Definitely a hidden gem!
A hidden gem! They had an incredible menu of vegan options, at an incredible price! The sweet peanut curry and fresh roll were delicious. And the pandan boba was 😍 (although a little watery, but that usually happens with dairy-free milk, so not a big deal). The fried rice wasn’t very oily at all (I don’t know how they did it!). I love the vibe in the restaurant, super cute decor and plants and great to go with friends/on a date! The food came out incredibly fast, and the staff was super friendly (I watched a very busy staff member drop everything and run to help an older man walking with his food to his car, and thought it was so sweet!). I do wish that they had plates or bowls rather than the single-use take-out containers.
Overall, I’m so happy to see so many vegan options, loved the vibe, and I can’t wait to come back!
Stiks has a fun vibe, and the food was great. I was a little overwhelmed with the menu, not being too familiar with the options. I was glad the toppings were on the side, so I could taste them separately. I really enjoyed it, especially as a “light” tasting meal (like didn’t make me feel heavy like a lot of places do after eating out). Give it a try!
Just had an amazing lunch here with wife and friends. Love the complete renovation, the atmosphere, the food and the super friendly staff. I spoke directly with one of the owners, she was the sweetest. This is a must try whether you are vegan or not. A must try if you are interested in great food . I know we will be back many times!
First, I was THRILLED to find a Vegan restaurant!Secondly, I learned Stiks is formerly Taste of Asia.
I called to ask questions the online menu couldn't answer. They pointed out what I already knew: they don't take orders over the phone. I was treated like a nuisance because I wanted to know about the difference between certain noodles & dishes they have - not all oriental type restaurants serve the same dishes the same way. My call was passed around with annoyance because they expected me to blindly order & pay a lot of money at a restaurant I've never been to. I made my online order but the order didn't go through. Then I was told to go in & order AGAIN! This was the REAL nuisance: I was already late for something important but had to wait even longer! Still, I was ready to drop dead from having nothing to eat all day.
Finally, a blond-haired lady had a friendly chat with me while I ordered. During the wait, she gave me a sample of the Lavender Boba, which was good but contained coconut milk (NOT ETHICAL IF PICKED BY MONKEYS).
My order came out quickly. I paid for: side order of Fried Rice, Pad Thai with Tofu & "Small Bites" Fried Tofu (I included photos). Soy sauce wasn't needed for the tofu & fried rice like they typically do. I really enjoyed the tofu cooked well & never had it fried in this manner. I had a few bites of the Pad Thai, which tasted unique. My favorite parts of all dishes was the tofu, which filled me up quickly, leaving a good portion of leftovers. Another plus I noticed: none or very little oil stains at the bottom of each box I usually see in mainstream oriental food.
I might stop by again. But I didn't like how my phone call was handled. The blond lady's comments about the restaurant being Vegan centered only on health/diet. I was disappointed there were no aspects of ethical standards towards animals. I admit that under my complicated circumstances, I can't maneuver a consistent Vegan diet in an animal-consuming society like I used to have the ability to do. So, I'm certainly not "perfect" - & neither is Stiks a.k.a. Taste of Asia.
