Best Mexican in St Augustine and probably Jax too. It’s authentic Mexican. Not Tex Mex or American Mexican.
I work right down the street. We order 2-4 days a week. Delish and fresh food. Wish there was more items to choose from on line.
This is place is amazing!! They have a nice selection of products and they are reasonably priced too! It doubles as a store and what looks to be hot to-go food with quite a bit of options - I didn’t get to try their food yet but I am so excited to! The staff were very polite and helpful as well. I will be returning and will recommend to all of my friends and family!
Run dont walk to this place for some terrific mexican food. The california burrito and really the carne asada is on point. Well seasoned and crispy. Just a delight to eat. I would have loved it to be a little bigger than what it is but it is a legit california burrito in STA!! The queso birria tacos were good too. The consome and cheesiness were spot on. Could have been a touch saltier but pretty good. I also orded the el consteno (shrimp and steak) and the lengua (beef tongue) tacos. Both were good. I plan on trying everything on the menu eventually. Ifyou only could pick one menu item then I would suggest go for the california burrito. This isnt just a order to go restaurant (bummer that they dont have tables) they have a market including meats and vegetables plus all the latin treats, peppers, food products, and drinks. I would typically have to go up to Jax to get some of the latin treats for my cooking but now I found something five minutes away! They also make fresh tortillas that can be found in the cooler by the cash register. Yum!
I recently say that El Supremo Grocery & Meat market opened a new store on San Marco so I stopped in to check the place out and try some tacos.
The market is extremely bright, clean and stocked full of pretty much any Mexican food item you can think of. Their prices are also extremely reasonable. They also have a nice selection of hot food items to go, (they are new and will eventually have indoor seating). I decided to go with the three taco dinner, (I chose chicken, steal and El Pastor), which includes refried beans and rice for $13.99.
When I got home and opened the container I was surprised at how stuffed the tacos were... they're definitely generous with the fillings! Everything was extremely flavorful, including the beans and rice. My favorite taco was the chicken followed by the steak with my least favorite being the El Pastor, (I didn't detect any pineapple). My only complaint is the meats were somewhat dry. I'm not sure if this was due to the wait on the drive home or if they overcooked some of the items. In any case, it wasn't a huge deal and I will definitely stop back and give them another try.
