Went here for dinner and the food an environment were both great. My fiance ordered sushi and I got the steak fried rice hands down was some of the best fried rice I have ever had anywhere else in town. The sushi was fresh and super tasty. We will definitely be coming back!
Umai is one of those rare finds down this end of the city. We've only ever ordered and picked up, but I'll tell you the food has always been fresh made and delicious. The staff has always been friendly and a pleasure to deal with each time.
We consistently have a good experience with the food and haven't had any issues at all. Thank you!
Best crab Rangoon's I’ve ever had, stuffed to the brim!
Tried a few different meals and a sushi boat, all excellent. This place is my new favorite for Japanese food. Can’t wait till I can actually sit down and eat there.
Visited 3/13/2020. So let me begin by saying, I don't rave about place unless it's worth doing so. My fiance and I just finished eating at Umai Cafe in the Shores across from Publix. The atmosphere was welcoming, our server was attentive, and it was fancy/ new age in the sense of decor. Now let's get to the food. I had the chicken hibachi dinner they cook in the back. It came out hot and fresh, the chicken had wonderful flavor and was perfectly cooked, the fried rice and veggies were also amazing. Fiance said it was the best sushi he's had in a while also. To top it off, their prices are so reasonable. All in all I'm in love. I'll be a regular in no time!
Umai is in their grand opening phase and this dinner was our first experience. The service was friendly and quick throughout our meal. I ordered the Mango Fried Rice, Philadelphia Roll, and the Flaming Tree Roll (Menu description: Deep fried with spicy tuna, avocado, asparagus, crab, eel sauce, spicy mayo, chili sauce, tobiko, and scallion on top). The fried rice was cooked perfectly and the mango was fresh. The Flaming Tree Roll was massive! You can compare it to the 'regular' size of the Philadelphia Roll in the photo. It was very lightly fried and the asparagus had a nice snap to it. I like spicy foods and this was barely any heat for my taste. Overall, it was pretty good. This was a very nice experience and, as locals, we'll be back to try more of the menu!
