This place is very charming and small. It looks like it was once a waffle house but it's totally transformed. Some of the ingredients seemed of odd or low quality though, like the wasabi and some of the fish. The doors to the bathrooms are semi-transparent and the bathroom was dirty when I went to use it. It's close to the loves truck stop, which makes it accessible to truckers. We usually are only able to eat fast food or gas station food so thank you for being there for us. It was nice to have a healthy and lovingly made meal.

Walked over from the Love's one evening. So glad that I did.
First off, service was over the top. Our waitress treated us like family from the moment we walked in.
The appetizers were outstanding. Try the Jalapeno Don!
The sushi was perfect. Super fresh and delicious. Some of the best I've ever had. The Chicken Teriyaki was really good also. Served blazing hot and absolutely delicious.
Service stayed exceptional throughout our visit. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, she never missed a beat.
I'll be stopping here anytime I'm coming through the area. I highly recommend!

Overall my experience at Fujiyama was average to slightly above. What made it average more than anything was from the time we placed our order till our last plate arrived was almost 40 minutes overall. The Saving Grace was that the meat was very good and the rice was pretty good also but not the best I've had. The salad was good, but the soup was a little on the weak side with very little flavor. The restaurant is in an old Waffle House and it's small and they do not cook in front of you and cook it in the back in the kitchen. The restaurant was moderately busy when we came, but expected to get my food at least around the 20-minute mark. My wife ordered the California roll and she said it was good too. Our server was very good and took care of us well. My only other complaint would be the pricing. Their prices are close to some sit down Hibachi restaurants. For example a chicken plate was around $13 and a filet and shrimp combination was $21. I think the California roll cost around $7.50. They do not charge extra for fried rice which was a plus because that is a big pet peeve of mine when I go to any Japanese restaurant. Also with your dinner you pick soup or salad but don't get both like is the custom at nearly every other Japanese restaurant I've been too.

We had dinner four four, two hibachi dishes, two teriyaki, and some sushi. Everything was fresh, well prepared, great portion sizes. Staff is super friendly and helpful. This is an excellent choice. Highly recommended. Also, this same meal at a larger Japanese restaurant in town would be twice as expensive.
