Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue ONE DAYTONA

We had brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Both on cold side, (portions on the lighter side) onion rings good. Tea good. Atmosphere great.

The epitome of a 3-star experience. The building is beautiful and the service is fine, but the food is wholly mediocre, bordering on bad. The brisket was among the worst I have had. The pulled chicken tasted good, but was dry. The burnt ends were very hit and miss. Good flavor but the quality of the meat varied. Some pieces were downright disgusting. The sausage was forgettable. As far as sides, the mac and cheese was excellent but the fries were very bland and overdone. All in all, it's a somewhat passable BBQ place, but with so many better options (even chains like Sonny's), I don't see any reason to ever visit again.

We loved it! We were greeted quickly and made feel very welcome. We had drinks at the bar, our bartender artfully made great cocktails. She helped us by suggesting and explaining items from the menu. A member of our party inquired about the smoked white chicken chili, she took the time to go to the kitchen to bring out a sample. I mentioned her outstanding performance, to one of on duty managers, he profusely thanked us for coming and entered our server / bartender for a weekly employee incentive. ( sounds like a great place to work), imagine the tips during the " 500 " Try the burnt ends....yikes unreal!! 6 happy customers, all agreed the food was great.

On the food alone I'd give this place a 3 star. It was mostly nothing special. it wasn't bad, but was just average BBQ for the most part. I will say that the onion rings are hands down the very best I've ever had in my life by a long shot. I gave them 4 stars because the staff there was extremely nice and helpful.
