Charlie Horse Restaurant

While looking at a nearby place to eat near the beach, we found this place & it was so so good. We had the fish platter, the fish sandwich & wings & it was all so delicious. Prices were reasonable, service was fabulous, and we recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Our waitress Michelle was awesome. She had us laughing at every visit to our table and the food was great all you can eat crab and shrimp. They have the best key lime pie. We come from Michigan every year and visit Charlie Horse. Dont miss out you'll be sorry.

Had dinner at the bar and it was great! We had their buffalo traditional wings, peel and shrimp, fish fry and a burger. Everything was delicious! Our bartender had phenomenal customer service (bald man, didn't get his name) and recommended their grilled wings which we took home and were amazing. Their "You'll Pay Tomorrow" sauce is perfectly spicy for spice lovers. Next time we're in Daytona/Ormond Beach we'll be back to Charlie Horse.

Food was good and plentiful. Hubby had surf and turf which was excellent. Best cup of clam chowder I've had in quite a long time. Servers were friendly and courteous.

We had a 40 minute wait for our party of 2 on a Friday night, which is not unexpected.

Downsides. The restaurant was kept way too cold, and they really crank up the music. My hands and feet were pretty frozen by the time we were done. If you run cold like I do, bring shoes and a sweater. I'm hearing impaired and the very loud music made it difficult to understand anything. Not my cup of tea. Probably won't go back except maybe during off hours when it's not so busy.

They were very busy. They have a large bar area which is convenient while waiting for a table if you don't want to sit outside. Fairly small dining area next to bar area by comparison. We had the Delmonico steak sandwich and seafood platter. Steak was excellent and seafood was fresh and tasted great. Service was friendly and attentive.
