Surf Hut

I don't eat seafood, and my husband eats very little seafood, but our sons love it...so while on vacation we eat out at seafood restaurants, while trying to choose ones that also serve other types of dishes as well. The Surf Hut did not disappoint!! We had excellent service, the fried pickles were phenomenal and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed out meals!
Another thing I really loved & appreciated about this restaurant was that it didn't have that strong "fishy" smell that many seafood restaurants have...there was no fishy smell at all!! I would give a million stars for that alone!!
We will definitely eat at the Surf Hut again when we return! Everything was perfect!

Food was great. We had the pork tacos and Cajun shrimp tacos. The shrimp ones were extremely spicy, so be mindful. We like spicy, but these were just a little too hot. The kids also got the popcorn shrimp and chicken strips. Would recommend the shrimp but not the chicken strips. It was also nice to be right on the beach with access to it. Overall, great place and definitely open to visiting again when we’re back in the area.

Great seafood. Snow crab was done perfectly. Kids meal popcorn shrimp was so nicely done we ordered a second plate as an appetizer. Taco Trio was excellent, with each one being quite large. Service was exceptional with everything arriving much faster than you would think. Our server, Natalie, was totally helpful and responsive. Tables should be spaced further apart, or at least some of the windows should be open to provide better health safety precautions. Most staff wore masks although several wore them under the nose. One guy in a matching uniform who seemed to be helping all the servers wore no mask. Greeters all wore masks properly. Overall a great experience.

The place is located on the beach, and yes, the view and the environment it is in is beautiful.
The restaurant is a generic knock-off of rustic places all around the country. Nothing special, just a worn-out look that should make you feel comfortable. I can't say if they achieved what they were looking for.
Food was good, again, nothing spectacular, as it is expected from a place that should serve masses with the intent to generate high profit while make them happy, which is always a toll order to fulfill.
Chowder was good, salad with shrimp was good. That's it.
All in all, good experience. Nothing disappointing, nothing to brag about.
