Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar

Loved this place so much we ate here 3 days out of the 5 days we were here for vacation! (LOL) The raw oysters are so yummy. Highly recommend the duck fries and smoked tuna tip!! I know I will be craving them when I get back home. The crab claws were also delicious!! Highly recommend this restaurant! The view is beautiful!

We visited Shunk Gulley for the first time this week while on vacation. Everything was wonderful from the service and staff to the food. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It was a wonderful experience with a great view from the time we got there to the time we left. If you are looking for yummy food with a great family atmosphere including live music and a great view, check this place out! We will definitely be returning.

Just got into town today from Dallas and this was our first restaurant to try. Let’s just say the bar has been set very high for anywhere else we go this week because this place is outstanding!

First I want to acknowledge Amanda in the upstairs oyster bar area. If anyone from management reads this, then please know she made our experience top-notch! She was absolutely phenomenal and her guidance made for an incredible evening we will not soon forget. She is hands down a wonderful asset to your team.

Now for the food. I assumed I was going to find good food off the coast but anything is possible these days. I can unequivocally say the blackened grouper sandwich was the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had in my 51 years on this planet. I’m a foodie and spend a lot of time in restaurants in various states (and some abroad) and this thing just knocked my socks off it was so perfect. The coleslaw was also a delightful surprise as it was not a Mayo-base and had such a fresh light flavor profile that perfectly complimented the sandwich.

I can also testify that the tuna dip with jalapeño jam was an amazing opener as was the Meyer lemon/garlic oysters. The kitchen was firing on all cylinders tonight and I get the impression that’s the status quo here. Hell I’m tempted to come back daily while we’re here just for this sandwich, but who knows what other gems Amanda might suggest next time.

Was there with a larger group for dinner and there was live music in outside dining area. We had plenty of room and did not feel crowded although it was busy. Service was attentive, friendly and not overbearing. Drinks were good and came quickly. Food tasted fresh and portion sizes were not outrageous. The highlight of the meal were the blue crab claws! They were so good we ordered a second round of them!

First time visiting today. The grouper sandwich is delicious. I will say the price is kinda high $29 but it was delicious. The duck fries was good we didn't know it was going to be an extra $4 each per meal. Our waitress was great and very friendly. Great view and the tuna dip is one of my favorites. I definitely recommend trying it. Overall a good time and good food.
