The food was AMAZING! From the smoked tuna dip(served cold btw) so good!! My boyfriend and I each ordered combos and I got sweet potato fries and a side salad(lettuce, tomato, and cheese) and he got cheese grits(made with Velveeta cheese) omg! And Cole slaw. Sweet tea was fresh and the service was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! I would definitely recommend and go back if I were in the area.
Beautiful on the inside, great friendly service. I always order the fried catfish plate. The fish is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My salad, with extra onions and their Ranch dressing is homemade and delicious. Their cheese grits are very good as well. I'm sooo happy for this establishment to be here in my home town ♥️
Went tonight and it was good! I got the Grouper Tacos, blackened, with cheese grits and cole slaw and it was all excellent. It's always 50/50 on cheese grits but these were properly cheesy! The cole slaw is the more light and refreshing variety versus a thicker and heavier kind. The tacos were just good, good cooking, good sauce, good crunch on the soft taco shell.
-A lot of potential. Excited to see how Outriggers grows.-
I will withhold my full judgment about the place until they get into the swing of things. The location couldn't have been better nor could cuisine chosen. I see this restaurant becoming a pillar of the community given enough time.
I can't attest to their seafood but, the steak I had was quite similar to what you'd find at a Japanese restaurant. It was by no means awful but, their choice in seasoning, cut, and preparation left me with more of a salty-umami taste than what ymone would typically expect from a surf and turf restaurant. The noodles would have paired fantastic with a side of noodles and some soup, but not so much with the sides they have available.
I had a double house salad for my sides which consisted of a bed of lettuce, a pinch of shredded cheese, and store bought ranch. Not entirely awful but, woefully lacking in terms of appeal to other offerings in the area. Perhaps the other sides bring more inspiration with them?
The furniture and table placement was quite nice and I much appreciated the space available. The decor displayed on the walls was rather lack luster by comparison. A mish-mash of "nautical themed" purchases that one would have to assume were picked up from a thrift store. I'm sure that it would improve with time as it grows with the community.
We were so happy to see Chipley get a new Seafood restaurant! My husband and I enjoyed our supper here, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good and the prices fair. A refreshing change of pace for Chipley.
