Famous Mike's

Awesome small cafe in downtown Macon. Stopped in for breakfast. Biscuits, grits and sausage gravy were off the chain. The cinnamon rolls are also delicious!

This was our first visit and it was OUTSTANDING!
We both had burgers, the Duane & the Berry, we agreed they were the best burgers we’d ever eaten. We had to try the collards and they were as promised delicious. The broth on the collards or as we old school southerners like to call it “pot-likker” was strong and comforting, exactly as it’s supposed to be. You can also mix in the supplied corn muffin and you have a great soup. The owner was friendly and welcoming. He spoke to us as soon as we came in. We feel he’s achieved what he told us was his goal, to serve delicious southern food and to be nice to people. The restaurant is clean and neat, the staff are really nice, there is southern rock playing low in the background and there is some really cool decor, all of this combined with some awesome food made the experience one that certainly impressed us. I reserved myself two cinnamon rolls to go before they were all gone, I’m so glad I did, they were delicious! Thank you Mike’s. We will definitely be back really soon and more often, it’s worth the 70 mile round trip.

In town visiting my son. I searched Google for best cheese grits in Macon and it lead me to Famous Mike's. The cheese grits were amazing. Nice portions, great service, upbeat friendly atmosphere. Definitely will stop in again when visiting. Oh yes definitely try the cinnamon rolls.

First time at Famous Mike's. I had a cheese grit bowl w/ over easy eggs and sausage. It was excellent!!! The grits was the best I'd had at any restaurant. Creamy, smoothe and salted right. And the biscuits are heaven! My husband had the plate with grits, cheese eggs, country ham and a biscuit. It was also great. Good flavor in eggs, and grits if course, wonderful ham. All done right. Comfort food. Nice place, relaxing, good atmosphere. And Mike and his staff make it all work! Can't wait to go back for lunch and dinner!

Great burger. I had the single patty with Bacon and cheese and tater tots. Yum
Service was good too. Had breakfast there several weeks and it took a long time to get our food. That was not the case this time, food came out promptly and was cooked as asked.
