Just great place on the lake, laid back, great service had the grilled shrimp over rice and a side of greens. Just great atmosphere. Feels like you are on vacation not in Macon.

When my family lived in Macon, we would go to the Fish n Pig on a semi-regular basis. We absolutely loved the atmosphere. It is a fun place with a great setting. The food is okay, nothing really too special, and sometimes it gets really crowed and the wait times can get long. However, it's Macon. There is not that many great non-chain restaurants in the whole town, so the Fish n Pig was an easy choice when we wanted to take the family out.

I just have to say, "Yum!" A comfy, beautiful spot right on the lake. The waitress and other wait staff were so friendly and took great care of our large group. Everyone in our group had something different, and everyone loved what they ordered. It's a popular spot, but it's hard to tell it's busy because the service is so good and they take great care to make sure you have everything you need.

    Disappointed.
We arrived and were told a 25-30 minute wait, an hour later we were seated. Took a very long time for any server to come to our table. We ordered a mixed drink fir my wife and a frozen margarita for me. My wife's drink was extremely strong. My "frozen" margarita was half melted and tasted like straight lime juice and tequila. The raw oysters were good, my low country boil was good. My wife ordered the crab legs. Most of the crab legs were hollow with no meat. The waitress very rarely returned to refill my wife's tea, my water, or to check on us. Twice I had to flag her down to get crackers for the crab legs and extra napkins. I had told the waitress it was my wife's birthday and with a table full of dishes and glasses (none were cleaned off), the waitress offered the bill or, "we have dessert, some peach cobbler or ice cream".
Will we return? It'll be a coin toss I hope other patrons get better service.

Love, love, love this place. Service is always quick and friendly. All wait staff has their favorite dishes and drinks. Food is flavorful and freshly made. Portions are bigger than I can handle, but I try to eat it all anyway. Even if it makes me miserable later. They offer entertainment by locals on the weekends, but I prefer lunch or dinner during the week. I'll never turn down an invite to come here.
