1540 Room

My spouse and I went here for Thanksgiving, and the food was excellent; the menu was prix fixe with a nice range of selections. Why the three stars? Because the service was abysmal. For a restaurant that bills itself as fine dining and charges accordingly, the service was Applebee’s-level, no lie. We were rushed through our meal although the restaurant was not full (our reservation was for 7:30 and we were seated early). Everything came one after another, basically overlapping with literally no pause between courses, and both the serving and clearing were hackneyed and disorganized. Basic service etiquette includes serving from the left (which kinda happened) and not clearing the plate of the person who’s finished while other is eating; not only was my spouse’s plate cleared with a quickness, but everything else was removed from the table at the same time, leaving just my plate, empty bread plate, and a glass of water. When dessert was literally run in, there were three random people around the table, one grabbing my plate but leaving the bread-plate, two dumping the desserts on the table, and then one of the dessert-carriers reaching across me to grab the bread-plate after the desserts were down. At no point during the meal did either a server or manager show up to check in about the food. Afterward, we waited for about 30 minutes for the check after we’d asked for it; it was brought after my spouse waved his arms around a bit, and the server said she’d forgotten she hadn’t given to us. Remember, the restaurant was nowhere near full. We sat another 15 minutes until someone NOT our server finally figured out that we wanted to leave - probably because we were sitting at the table looking bored and cranky as he walked by. Menu pricing definitely does not reflect quality of service and overall dining experience. This was amateur hour.

Great atmosphere and the most charming server. They served a special menu for Thanksgiving which is the only disappointment. Was really looking forward to some of the items on the regular menu. Turkey and dressing was spectacular as was the red snapper my wife ordered. We'll return on our next visit to enjoy some entrees from regular menu.

Outstanding food and service. Wonderful locally sourced dishes. The Scallops and Ox Tail were marvelous. Shrimp and Grits are unique and tasty. Try the Jalapeño Maple Bacon butter and be transformed. Great deserts and wine list to pair. Highly recommend

This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! Will, Dennis and Tim greeted us at the door with a friendly smile and warm welcome. Gary and Rachel did an amazing job at making sure our service was exceptional! My over tired three year old was difficult at moments and Rachel was so kind to her. I enjoyed the lovely conversation with Gary and Rachel. And the food--- UNFORGETABLE! The Lobster Bisque was pure bliss! I can't wait to come back to Savannah and eat here again! It's on my list of MUSTS! Thank you for such a perfect dining experience!

I ate at this restaurant for breakfast while in Savannah for a conference. The food was great. I had the corned beef and sweet potato hash. It was delicious. The sauce was amazing. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. My server Ivan did a fantastic job and seemed genuinely happy to serve me.
