Simple Soul of Savannah

This was by far the best meal we had while visiting Savannah. Its was grandmas home cooking. I would make this a stop anytime you are here. I had the pot roast, mac and cheese, and cornbread- amazing! My husband had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and French fries- he also loved his.

Wonderful place to visit! I'm from Pa and was looking to find a casual, home style cooking restaurant to experience southern style cooking. This was honestly my favorite restaurant of my entire vacation! The food was delicious, with generous portions. The atmosphere was cute and the owner was very friendly. I had the baked chicken over yellow rice with collards and fried okra. I tried collard greens at several other restaurants and these were my favorite! My bf had fried chicken over yellow rice, sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese. Wish I lived closer I would be back often!

Food is always more special when it is made with love. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Simple Soul of Savannah. We came to visit Savannah and on our last day found this place guided by glowing reviews. We ordered Fried Whiting, Grilled Shrimp with sides of Collard Greens, Baked Mac and Cheese, Fried okra and Coleslaw. This ended up being the perfect farewell for our trip. It truly made our time in Savannah special and unforgettable. I highly recommend Simple Soul of Savannah - it’s a must-visit and we hope to be back!

I’ve lived in Savannah for about 5 months. Simple Soul was hands down the best meal I’ve had since moving here. Kind, warm service in a pleasant atmosphere-and the food was perfect. The beef with gravy rice plate was so, so good. The mac and cheese was incredibly flavorful and cheesy. And the collards? Absolutely the best I have ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

This place exudes kindness. The staff are radiant and friendly. The building is quaint (cement block), but SO full of charm! The food reminds me of the kind made with love the way only grandma could do! The menu is extensive with great options and very reasonable pricing. I asked the helpful lady taking our order to just build me a plate. I ended up with the roast beef and veggies over rice with decadent Mac n cheese and cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes with homemade lemonade. I also got to try the seared salmon and a few other sides and they were scrumptious! The serving sizes are enough you won't leave hungry! We took our left over and choose to eat them for breakfast over getting fresh breakfast, they were that good! If I were local I'd make a point to support this business. You can tell their heart is in it. Very satisfied and glad we listened to other reviews and chose to try it!
