JD's on the Lake

My daughter got married last week and we held her rehearsal dinner and welcome party at JDs on the Lake. It was the most fun venue ever with a beautiful view of the lake and a Dj playing upbeat music on the patio. The barbeque was amazing, and their staff is totally on the ball. The Sunday after the wedding we had JDs cater a farewell breakfast at our neighborhood clubhouse. The food was absolutely delicious. I wish I had a plate of their biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs and grits right now. Their catering manager, Janet, is very helpful and communicative and the owner, Chip, personally delivered our breakfast on Sunday to make sure everything was perfect, which it was! I will definitely be calling on JDs on the Lake again for our future catering needs.

I like women bartenders but then that's just me. Food was good. Would have liked to have had my beer in the bottle instead of a can. Taste better.

Attitude and customer service matter. We arrived by boat on a Sunday evening at 9:12. Upon arriving we were told that the kitchen was closed, but drinks were available. Since we had planned this dinner, we were very disappointed.
As the eight of us were about to leave, a nice young lady named Brie intervened and offered to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate us. The kitchen agreed to reopen and they did a great job taking care of us. I was truly impressed by Bries' amazing smile and attitude at the end of a very long day. It is the type of attitude that you rarely see under the circumstances. I commend her and the staff on
going above and beyond to provide great customer service. Bravo!

Good drink specials. They make a mean hurricane. But the prices for food are ridiculous and it's because the restaurant is located on the lake. If they're going to charge that much for food, they really need to work on the quality as it's not much better than most cafeteria food or dive bars. Almost $13 for an avocado wrap that I could easily make at home, $10 for a BBQ sandwich, and $12 for chicken tenders which weren't anything to write home about. Would never pay that much to eat there again. I will say though that the J.D.'s location down the road has great BBQ and much better prices.

We ate here last night and it was awesome! Had fried shrimp, chicken tenders and peel and eat shrimp and it was all fabulous. Our server, Sarah, was very attentive and hardworking, as was the rest of the staff. They were very busy, so the food took awhile, but that’s to be expected. Anyone who would expect otherwise would be foolish. Good food takes time, and people should understand when places are busy. We can’t wait to come back.

We really enjoyed it. Bucket drinks were tasty and perfect size. Our party had shrimp tacos, fish tacos, two different burgers, catfish and house salad. We really enjoyed sitting outside with the beautiful views. Wait staff was excellent. We will definitely return again soon.
